Okay, yes, So I'll start off by saying that I realize this is a WW2 United States military jacket and cap, BUT when I actually DO this cosplay (As in Ivan Raikov), I will be MAKING my own Russian military hat and uniform, as I would not want to alter and/or destroy a piece of history as old (and in such good condition) as these items are.
So, in other words, this is just a test. I had boughten the stuff to make his outfit quite some time ago, but I just never got around to finish it, and of course I'm always wondering to myself if I'll actually look good as the character (like I do with ALL of my cosplays XD).
So, I basically did this to assure myself that this was even a good idea. Which, in the end I decided that, yes. Yes, it is. I am also going to be cosplaying the normal Raiden from MGS2, which I started his costume about a year ago, but again...never finished it. Which is probably a good thing, because I had gotten some better ideas for its construction later on.
MGS4 Raiden is also on my list, but I probably won't get started on his outfit until another year or so.
About the photo itself: I was messing around with it in photoshop, and came up with these four images (the one on the bottom right being closest to the original) and I couldn't decide upon just one of them to upload, so I decided to take an "Andy Warhol" approach to it, and just compile them into one.
But after this whole fiasco, I decided that I think I have a pretty good face for Raiden, and so I'm a little more anxious to get these outfits done. XD
BTW, would you guys mind sharing which one of the four images you find the most appealing? I definitely thing that the top two have more of an "Metal Gear Solid" artwork feel to them. :3
And funnily enough, I actually like the bottom two alot : o!!
And I like the bottom two cause you can see you're face clearer and it still has that nice video game feel to it : D
